LSTS FC Development and Training Methods:
The program applies a combination of the methodologies created by the
USSF, NSCAA, leading youth soccer programs around the world as Ajax Amsterdam
in Holland and AC Vittoria in Brazil, and the experiences collected by
a board of advisers that includes some of the leading educators and soccer
instructors in the United States of America.
The emphasis of "Life Skills Through Soccer" learning process
is directed to the quality and speed of play, style of play, technical
execution, tactical awareness and decision-making (brain of the game),
creativity, improvisation, appropriate-competitive-mentality, mental toughness
and enjoyment (defined as the kind of fun derived from the satisfaction
of accomplishing a job with quality and responsibility, not the "goof
around" kind of fun).
The standard methodology of soccer training is somewhat revised in the
"Life Skills Through Soccer" approach. The training concepts
transform the training session into a more mobile, participative and developmental
experience for the players.
-The
training program applies a methodology that uses a variety of small-sided
games, where the players' interaction with the ball is maximized, and
where each player is given the opportunity to participate in all areas
of the field. Also, special variations are used to make the exercises
more realistic such as: different dimensions and shapes of playing areas,
number of players in the exercise, number of soccer balls in the game,
number of times each player can touch the ball before passing it, and
the number of goals utilized at the same time, etc.
-At
Life Skills Through Soccer, every player should look forward to become
part of a team in a program that aspires to play at the highest competitive
level offered to us by local leagues, state and out-of-state tournaments
and competitions, and in the future, to the international soccer standards.
-LSTS
provides its participants with opportunities to improve other areas of
their physical abilities, such as: speed, coordination, agility, balance,
strength, time-space relations, flexibility, etc, through our new and
innovative "motor basic skills" extra curricular program, designed
specifically to help develop those areas of the athletes' individual performance.
-During
the winter season, Life Skills Through Soccer provides its participants
with training and playing opportunities based on the FIFA Official Indoor
Game: FUTSAL.
Training takes place at a local Private School Gyms that provides plenty of playing areas where the players
are challenged through this highly skill-developmental 5 a side game.
-Spring
mini-camps are offered during spring break week for players to enhance
their skill and keep busy.
-During the summer LSTS FC members are provided with the LSTS Academy Summer Camp
Program, a weekly program offered from the end of June to mid-July. -A
Beach Soccer Training Program on Saturdays is offered during select weekend dates in August
and is intended for players and their families to receive extra conditioning
in the most enjoyable way, by playing in the sand and sun.
Through the LSTS Academy, summer "just for fun" pick-up games
are offered on select evenings during the summer. This program represents
the LSTS FC effort to integrate the whole community into a
soccer affair that is free of coaching and instruction. Players of different
ages and skill levels participate in the games, as watchful adults provide
supervision and allow the creativity of the children to flow.
-All year around,
LSTS FC
provides a Goalkeeper training program designed and directed by one of
the leading and most successful goalkeeper trainers in the State of New
Jersey, and specifically created to improve the skill and understanding
of the game of youth goalkeepers. The training sessions for goalkeepers
runs independently from team practices but intrinsically related
to the LSTS FC team style of play.
-Finally,
understanding, honoring, and living a life based on moral and ethical
values and principles is one of the cornerstones on which "Life Skills
Through Soccer" bases the process of learning the game of soccer,
and teaching broader lessons about life.
The core difference and what makes the Life Skills Through Soccer Program
special is the philosophy of teaching and coaching applied by the trainers.
It is the desire of the teacher to teach not just the skill, but also
the life lesson.
